The next Labour Women's meeting will be on Monday 21st November from 6-8pm (please note the earlier time)

At: Unite Headquarters, Union House, 41 Castle Way, SO14 2BW

Topic:    Women and Violence

The meeting will involve a panel of people who are working with women who are experiencing/have experienced violence. The format will involve:

6pm                    Refreshments on arrival
6.15pm               Short presentations from the invited panel members

Speakers include:

Josephine from Beyond the Streets

Karen Jordan from Hampton Trust

Duncan Reade from PIPPA (Prevention, Intervention and Public Protection Alliance)

Lisa Mitchell local LP member and on the Board of Southampton Women’s Aid

Sue Phillips local LP member and involved in research and activism in the area of women and violence

6.45 - 7.45pm     Questions and discussion.

We are experimenting with different timings for meetings and hope that having a slightly earlier time might be more attractive to those who do not enjoy travelling home in the late evening during the winter.

As agreed, if anyone requires transport do let me know and I will put you in touch with a member prepared to offer lifts. It would also be good to hear from others prepared to offer lifts.

Hope to see you at the meeting.

Best wishes

Joan
