The link I was sent to help in tomorrow’s local election does not work!

That is shocking no one has fixed it yet, if people want to help but can’t get the information because the link isn’t working I find ridiculous and how many votes lost?
commented 2018-05-02 13:19:23 +0100
To work out if I ought to be voting for your candidate tomorrow – I have read your pledges, for our City, however I would like to know how you would be funding all of these should you be successful.

Dear candidate

I am contacting all the election candidates in Southampton on behalf of Hampshire Equality Group

The UK is one of the most unequal countries in the developed world. Evidence shows this leads to much worse health and social outcomes across a broad range of indicators. It also undermines trust and social cohesion and damages family and community life.

Our local group is affiliated to The Equality Trust which campaigns for changes that will have a significant impact on reducing inequality. The Trust advocates a range of policies and actions at different levels. The ‘Fairness Four’ are the Trust’s top priorities for implementation by local councils:

1 Evaluate the likely impact of council policies on socio-economic inequality*

2 Pay all directly contracted staff the real Living Wage (as set by the Living Wage Foundation)

3 Ensure all council contractors are required to pay staff the real Living Wage

4 Publish a plan to reduce the pay ratio between the CEO and the lowest-paid directly employed council worker

  • As per the Socio-economic Duty, section 1 of the Equality Act 2010. This was, regrettably, not brought into force by central government but many local councils are taking action on this. The Equality Trust and Just Fair are lobbying the Government to bring the duty into force.

Will you pledge that, if elected, you will work towards the Council implementing these four policies?

Hampshire Equality Group will publish the names of all candidates who accept this pledge, and any other responses from candidates, on our website.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Andrew Mason

What can I do to help labour at the age of 14?

When are local Labour party meetings held in Shirley?

How do you join the Labour Party? There is no working information about this on this website.

What preparations are we making for a snap General Election possible in Spring or Autumn 2018?

The incompetent David Davis has now holed the brexit project below the waterline. When will Labour debunk the brexit myth and force the dying conservative government to concede that they have failed on the project; and must now send the A50 retraction letter to Brussels.

received a rather confusing letter for city council today about setting up a business and it would include maintenance and running of property . Now im in a council flat and am worried this is a back door policy that will slowly creep toward selling off council homes, i hope im wrong but can someone look into this >?

To whom it may concern,

Having recently received the news that I’ve got a job at Porton Down, I’m deciding to relocate to Southampton. As a result, I’ve had to stand down as a councillor in my hometown of Calne and as youth officer for North Wiltshire CLP, unfortunately. However, saying all of this, I’m keen to get engaged in the local Labour party in Southampton. I’ve managed to start the process of finding a place to live, and I believe the main place I’m looking at is in Southampton Test. I shall be moving in on the weekend of the 17th of November, and my new job starts on the 20th. Are there any upcoming events at this time that I’d be able to attend?

All the best,

Mike Macgregor-Fairlie

I wanted to contact the EC over the All members Meeting last night, but as is becoming apparent the EC are deliberately being illusive!

You would think that clicking on the elected labour officials link would show their email addresses but instead you get page cannot be found, Barney or Ann if you want to contact me or provide me your email addresses that would be great thanks

I am appalled not only by the huge delay in paying housing benefit for my lodger (now sorted) but the incredible WASTE of resources by this council (said to be cash strapped) I received no fewer than THREE COPIES of the same letter and a 4th sheet with the same information My lodger also received two copies We blame this government for cuts but we seem to be our own worst enemies I do hope this is a one off situation What does Simon letts think of this? Who can do anything about it ? Brenda Knopf 4 church lane S0171SZ

Dear Southampton Labour Party

My name is Bernard Dyke and I am a junior dr who trained at Southampton, although I now work in the Midlands.

Please be advised that Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt is due to visit Southampton General Hospital today for talks with Senior management and Consultants. A source inside SGH has told me this but unfortunately nothing is known of times. He achieved a similar visit to RBH escaping any media attention – please see article:

I believe it is in the public interest to hold Mr Hunt to account for his record on the NHS, and to make him face the public and press which he is understandably loath to do.

Many thanks for your help with this

Best wishes

Should take corbyn down the high street, show him all the homeless people in the shop doorways, which is just getting worse by the day, seems a lot more people on the streets in Southampton since labour took over control of the council, and it shows none of you are trying to resolve this problem as the number just keeps growing, tourist must love seeing the state of the high street and how funny it is that tower blocks are finally getting sprinklers, wasn’t the council advised to do this after the Shirley incident, yet they have waited and only decided to act now following the horrible scenes in London, well that what a lot of people in these blocks think

to propose a prisoner reform program that i feel would be financially beneficial to HMP services. inmates who are willing to change . And to food industry as well as other industries who would be open to involvement in the program
